Retail We Love This Month

Each month, stores spark our interest, not because they are louder, bigger or newer, but because they are clearer. Clear in intent. Clear in execution. Clear in how they translate brand into space. This month, these stores captured the attention of modernspace people around the world.

Burberry, New Bond Street, London

An immersive take on modern luxury, this space demonstrates what happens when heritage is handled with precision. A curated palette of stone, metalwork, glass and ceramic mosaic finishes creates a gallery-like environment where every detail feels considered. Sculptural timber pieces operate as functional art framing the merchandise instead of competing with it. The craftsmanship exudes precision.

Polished steel surfaces and checkerboard flooring introduce structure and rhythm. Lighting subtly references the iconic Burberry check, not as overt branding but as spatial language. The repetition is confident, controlled and unmistakable.

The result is a store that doesn’t rely on excess. It relies on clarity. The brand story is expressed in three dimensions, allowing customers to move through heritage reinterpreted for today.

Gucci, Westfield Topanga, Los Angeles

Where Burberry is precision, Gucci is expressive attitude. Located within one of LA’s premier luxury destinations, the store mirrors its upscale context while amplifying the brand’s maximalist fashion identity. This is not a quiet space. It is bold, eccentric and unapologetically expressive.

Materials, colour, texture and display combine to create an environment that feels theatrical. Every fixture and visual moment reinforces Gucci’s distinctive creative attitude. The storytelling is embedded in the physicality of the space, layered, unexpected and deliberate. Rather than simply housing product, the store projects personality. Shoppers step into a world with a clear point of view. That conviction is what creates impact.

Longchamp, New York City

Longchamp’s New York City store is calm, open, and intentionally uncluttered, giving each piece the room it deserves to be discovered.

The store design leans into craftsmanship at every level. Premium timber finishes create warmth and texture throughout the space, grounding the environment in a sense of quality and longevity that mirrors the brand’s heritage. Clean architectural lines and generous spacing allow the products to breathe, inviting exploration rather than overwhelming the visitor.

Subtle pops of Longchamp’s signature green punctuate the neutral palette, appearing in moments of color that guide the eye and add a fresh, modern energy to the otherwise serene setting. The layout encourages a slower pace, where browsing feels more like wandering through an exhibition than navigating a traditional retail floor.

Why We Love Them

The design decisions are not aesthetic add-ons. They are strategic translations of brand values. Craftsmanship becomes spatial. Attitude becomes architectural. Rhythm becomes experiential.

In different ways, these environments demonstrate that great retail is about expressing belief.  And when belief is built into the walls, the floor and the light itself, the store becomes more than a destination. It becomes a statement.
